To control your A/V equipment with infrared you will need an interface module. We recommend the gc100 by GlobalCache. For whole house audio we recommend adding Slim Devices Squeeze Boxes wherever you want a zone of music. They are low cost and plug-and-play.

For the security features you will need a supported alarm panel with a computer interface, like an RS232 connector. For lighting, climate, pool and sprinkler control you will also need a compatible system with a computer interface. You can view the list of http://plutohome.com/index.php?section=compatibility. However we have not finished migrating those drivers to series 2. Also, if you have another device that has a computer interface let us know. We can assign a programmer to work on a device driver for you. The lowest cost solution is X10, and we have already migrated our X10 module (the CM11a device driver).

For the telephones you will either need a digital SIP phone, like the Snom 200's, which are plug-and-play, or an FXS->Ethernet adapter like the one offered by Digium.com. Those allow you to plug a regular telephone into the network and make/receive voice over ip calls. You will probably want to get an account with a voice over IP service provider. Look for one that supports Asterisk--the backbone of Pluto's telephone system. You can also get some FXO cards from Digium.com that will allow you to plug your regular telephone line into the Pluto Core, or use ISDN or T1.
